Crankworx
Each year Whistler hosts the world’s premier mountain biking festival, Crankworx. This event sees the best mountain bikers in the world competing in a range of events that range from the Fat Tire Crit to the Canadian Open Enduro, to the Downhill Garbanzo, to the Redbull Joyride slope style event, as well as a large number of events in between.
The festival lasts for 10 days, during which there is an impressive calendar of races, a good number of trade stands, product demo events, and a comprehensive diary of evening entertainment, free concerts and the legendary Block Party.
Having had a pretty quiet Monday, Tuesday was back up to full speed. This was the last day we were going to be displaying at the top end of the Whistler village, as from Wednesday to the end of the event the pricing for displaying in zone 2 jumps up, so we had taken the decision to be further down the village stroll for the remainder of the event.
After the excitement of the Canadian Open racing on Sunday, and the business of a weekend in Whistler, the Monday is always quiet by comparison. With no scheduled racing we set up the T2R-Distributors booth at a more relaxed time of 9am.
Although noticeably quieter in the village, Dan and I were still kept busy in the stand catching up with various people, but there really was nothing to report from the event.
Day two of Crankworx started in very much the same way as it did on day one with us setting up the T2R-Distributors booth at the top of the village to display the Commencal, IXS and Spank Industries components.
Having had the experience from the first day the set up was quick and easy. Being a Sunday, and Crankworx the village was pretty busy and we had a constant stream of people at the stand all day.
Arriving a month earlier than normal, Crankworx Whistler started properly today, and for the T2R-Distributors / Ticket2RideBC team, it was a full on day.
Cam McCaul gives a walk through run down of the all new Redbull Joyride course for Crankworx in Whistler. Looks like it is going to be an awesome event to watch.
Crankworx is fast approaching and the Ticket2RideBC team are getting in shape for the all new Canadian Open Enduro as presented by Richie Schley and Brian Lopes.
