Three weeks after racing the SDA Round 1 I was back up to Ae for the inaugural round of the new UK Gravity Enduro Series. Similar to the long running European Avalanche Cup format, this would be a test of stamina as it involved having to ride up the hills prior to being timed down them. Penalties would also be incurred for being late at the top of the hill, so no time for leisurely push ups with a DH bike. MIJ Downhill South Wales Championship Round 2
A belated start to the season saw me entering my first race as a Vet – you’d think I’d know better by now! Taff Buggy was the chosen venue because the boys from MIJ always arrange good weather…
True to form, Saturday was sunny and dry with only a moderate wind. The track was one we all know and love and practice went very well – I hooked up with some of the lads from the 9.8 Cartel and an old T2R guest, Tricky Moore. We spied some lines and tried some lines and the track was wired by tea time – sorted.
Ticket2RideBC is a proud sponsor of the Halo British Downhill Series, and will have a number of its UK based Downhill race team taking part in this series.
Below we have a race report from our DH race team vetran Steve Felstead. The T2R teams results for the event were:
- Steve Felstead, 9th.
- Joe Taylor, 11th
- Ben Moorhouse, 43rd
