Mayhem World |

MAYHEM WORLDTHE BIRTH OF A BRAND
Mountain Mayhem, the UK’s first ever the 24 hr mountain bike endurance event was born in a muddy field back in 1998. Now after 10 years, the owners of the UK’s often-imitated-but-never-beaten-number-one-24hr-mountain-bike-endurance-event, Pacific Edge Events, have created another first: the event that has become a brand.
Pacific Edge Events proudly announce the birth of their new baby:
Mayhem World
WHY?
Because Mountain Mayhem has grown so big it has become impossible to confine it just to a weekend. This baby is for life!
www.mayhemworld.co.uk. is where you will find a whole plethora of stuff, from discounts, competitions, Mayhem course details, regular newsletters, meet the team behind the event, find out some tips from the top, check out the history of Mountain Mayhem and generally pick up some advice and have some fun along the way. And just like the event this website will evolve too!
There are so many things on there, you just need to go and have a look for yourself…
SO IS A WEBSITE ENOUGH?
Frankly no, it isn’t.
As part of the evolution of Mountain Mayhem the event into Mayhem World the brand, another little baby has been born: Mayhem World Club.
With Mountain Mayhem the event, our philosophy has always been “the rider always comes first”, so naturally, as part of the evolution of Mayhem World, that philosophy has be at the core of everything we do.
If you register with Mayhem World (which will cost you nothing but an email address and a few personal details) you will be able to pick up some great discounts throughout the year from our selected partners and also on a range of goodies from the Mayhem World brand (to be launched at Giant Mountain Mayhem 2008).
As a member of Mayhem World Club you will also be able to enter our exclusive monthly competitions.
We are carefully hand picking partners who feel the way we do, partners who can offer holidays at home and abroad; skills courses; clothing; bike bits – in fact a veritable cornucopia of delights!
HOW DO I JOIN?
That’s easy. Go to www.mayhemworld.co.uk and send us an email from the Mayhem World page and we’ll pop you on our newsletter mailing list.
At the Mountain Mayhem event (Eastnor Castle Deer Park, 20th, 21st & 22nd June 2008) we will be issuing actual membership cards. Don’t worry, if you can’t make it to Mayhem this year, of course we’ll miss you, but just let us know and we’ll send your card out to you.
For more details on the Mayhem World Club, just check out the Mayhem World link on www.mayhemworld.co.uk where Mayhem rules all year long!
Lubbely, jubbely!

Photo Edition |
22 January, 2008
|
Some Photo’s - As it’s been a while since the last news update, we thought we’d
spruce this page up with a couple of photo’s to get you in the riding mood!
Back in September, Victor and Billy from Dirt Magazine came out with
us with a view to running a feature on ‘riding beyond the bikepark’.which is
really where you need to be exploring when you come over to this part of the world.
Canadian DH wunderkind Steve Smith joined us for a few days as I'm sure issue 75
of DIRT will illustrate and it was indeed a site to behold - that boy rides pretty
smooth and BIG! - one for the future certainly.
Enjoy the shots and be sure to email us if you want to know where they were taken!

Chalet Hosts Wanted |
22 January, 2008
|
Have you ever dreamed about leaving the nine to five and doing something more
exciting with your life? How about spending your summer riding the best trails
on the planet, whilst living and working in the MTB mecca that is Whistler BC?
Well, Ticket2Ride want you!

Each year we recruit people to join our resort team on a seasonal basis.
Ideally, you will be available from mid-May to the end of September or early
October. We are especially interested in anyone with a love of the outdoors,
a cultural interest in new areas and the ability to contribute positively to
a team environment. A polite, sociable and obliging character is essential.
T2R is proud of the outstanding quality of its past resort teams and we owe much
of our success to their hard work, attention to detail and friendly character.
For the summer 08 season we’re currently looking for 2 experienced chalet hosts
to run one of our chalets for this coming summer season (May – October).
The Chalet Hosts have the sole responsibilty for the efficient running of a
small chalet (max, 22 guests), working as part of a larger resort team.
Responsibilities include daily cleaning of the chalet, providing breakfast home
baked afternoon tea, packed lunches and a 3- course evening meal within a set
budget. Menus must be wholesome, varied and of a dinner party standard.
You also have the friendly, outgoing personality that will ensure guests really
take to you. In short, you’ll play a big part in making sure our customers are
dying to come back next year.

T2R’s unparalleled experiences always meet the high expectations of our customers.
We’re first choice for people who want to enjoy the best – and we’re also first
choice for people who’ve got the individuality, energy and talent to help us
deliver that experience.
Alongside the opportunity to spend a summer working for a highly respected and
industry leading company in one of North America’s premier resorts, other benefits
will include:
- All accommodation and associated living costs
- All meals
- Competitive rate of pay
- Bike purchase scheme

The successful applicant will be required to organise a Canadian working visa,
which can be obtained though Bunac. However, numbers are strictly limited so
early application is advised.
If you think you have what it takes to join the T2R team then please forward a
CV and covering letter detailing previous relevant experience and current salary
guide to jobs@ticket2ridebc.com or call Scott on 08707 202 880.
